![]() It was VERY cool being able to put the hyperboom in my rear basket which happens to fit it PERFECTLY and then party-up connect to like 6 other Boom products, and have it sound quite good. More recently, we did a little bicycle rave around a nearby park (it was cold out, not many people out, don't worry we weren't THOSE people). I read a lot of reviews about it versus the JBL BoomBox 2 and read that the Hyperboom was louder- and while i do feel like it could be louder that it is, i can assure you there is 0 distortion at any volume. Very useful.Īs for the sound- it is fantastic. For instance, i'll initiate the PartyUp on my phone, connected to BT1, and then have other friends connect to BT2 or Aux and partyUp remains connected. That said, when just playing music, it is fine, especially if you space the speakers out a bit, the echo isn't quite as noticeable.Īnother note about PartyUp- i noticed that it is able to retain pairing of connected speakers even when you change input. In case you're not aware, each speaker plays stereo, and there is no stereo separation or selection such as with the Oontz products (or Wonderboom, i understand). I would LOVE it if UE released some firmware to do auto-latency adjustment, and perhaps the capability to create a true multi-channel sound system with their Boom products, but we're not there yet. I was sad to discover that the latency in PartyUp mode made it feel like we were running 'Chamber' or some sort of echo EQ which was quite unpleasant for movie watching if you want to use this speaker with its fantastic optical in as a centre point in your multi-speaker wireless home theater: don't. I was excited to use PartyUp mode to create surround sound, with the hyperboom as the main focal point. The weekend the hyperboom arrived, we took it camping (well, glamping) and watched movies in the forest on a projector. The intended purpose of the hyperboom for me is NOT for home use (although it does FILL the small 1200sqft house we have) the intended purpose was for the partyup functionality, to link with the megaboom (and other friends' *boom devices) while camping and the likes. I wouldn't say i'm an audiophile, but I try. My home audio system is 5.1 Polk mid-range speakers (towers and satellites) running through an older Marantz, as well as a 2.0 polk system for records (on a Scott amp). Thought i'd give some thoughts on the UE Hyperboom after having owned it for a month.įirst off, my other speakers include: Cambridge Audio Oontz 3XL (x2 sort of), a couple small Anker speakers, and a Megaboom 2.
